Born in Parma in 1984, Andrea falls in love with classical music at a very early age and after numerous attempts postponed by his family initially reluctant about his constant requests, at eight years old he gets consent to start piano lessons under threat of leaving the house.
After graduating from Liceo Classico in 2003 and from Parma Conservatory with Maria Luisa Franco in 2004, he met the pianist Lee Kum Sing and continued his studies under his direction at the Academy of Music in Vancouver, Canada, where in 2006 after being conferred the award Kay Meek, he performed the first Piano Concerto by Tchaikovsky at the Orpheum Theatre. After graduating in 2007, driven by a deep interest in Russian music, he decided to travel to Moscow, where he entered the Moscow Conservatory to study with Artist of the people Vera Gornostaeva, with the Georgian pianist Ruvim Ostrovsky and with Valery Piassetsky, under whose guidance he graduated with honors in 2013. In 2014 he was admitted to the Hochschule in Hamburg where he pursues Master Klavier program with Ralf Nattkemper.
Winner of national and international competitions, including the Gran Prix Pianists of Italy in Osimo and the first prizes at international competitions of Manerbio and AMA Calabria, his performances were broadcasted by radio during the Masterclass County Golden Piano Institute in Nevada City, and in Sochi during the Olympic Games in 2014 in occasion of his concert.
During his stay in Russia he played extensively throughout the country and taught master classes. He was invited to Tomsk Contemporary Music Festival in memory of E.Denisov to perform a program of contemporary music with Moscow Soloists of Yuri Bashmet.
In 2011 he played for the Association Dino Ciani in Italy, and in 2012 he was awarded the prestigious Premio Molinari Pradelli, awarded every year to the most outstanding performer. Andrea performed a recital in occasion of the Thanksgiving Reception of the American Embassy of Moscow on July 4th 2013, where he appeared as a soloist and in a duo with soprano Liudmila Velinskaya. The duo composed by Andrea and Liudmila won the international competition Piano Voce in Moscow in 2014. In March 2014 he performed a program entirely dedicated to Chopin at Gdansk Baltic Philarmony, and at Smolny Cathedral in St. Petersburg, where he appeared in quality of representative of European piano school.
He currently plays in a duo with soprano Liudmila Velinskaya, winner of the International Competition Bellini of Caltanissetta in 2012, and with the cellist Gleb Stepanov. He appeared as a soloist and in chamber ensembles on the stages of Italy, Canada, USA, Russia, Ukraine, Austria, Daghistan, Poland and Germany.
Andrea nurtures a passion for foreign languages, a part of Italian, which is his mother language, he speaks fluently English, French, German and Russian.
